WHY all the fuss about whether or not to exclude pupils with piercings from school?
The answer is obvious. Simply introduce into the school rules (if such things exist nowadays) a blanket ban on jewellery of any kind, piercings included, with no exceptions. When I was at school, all we were allowed to wear was a watch. No rings, chains or earrings were permitted, not even studs. Problem solved.
