Cyclists are unhappy about the latest list of hostel closures proposed by YHA as part of its strategy review. This follows too closely on closures that stemmed (allegedly) from The F & M crisis, that included three Yorkshire Dales hostels, including Aysgarth only disposed of late last year.
Included in 30 or more under threat are Yorkshire hostels Earby(near Skipton), Stainforth (Settle),Kel (Swaledale) and Langsett (N.edge of Peak District). Others in the north are Alston, Kirkby Stephen, Acomb(N.Tyne), Bellingham, Greenhead (Roam wall) and Wooler, Northumberland N.Pk.
