Amotherby's 25th Vintage Working Weekend took place on 10/11th September - and the silver jubilee was marked by a big fundraising success in aid of some excellent causes.
The event took place at Sleights Farm Amotherby by kind permission of Mr Dave Bulmer, one of the founders of the Vintage Working Weekend.
Mr Bulmer and his friends began running the weekend to raise money for local charities and to put something back into the community.
This year's chosen charities were:- Mencap,Wilf Ward Trust, Next Steps, Ryedale Special Families and Encephalitis.
Throughout the weekend there were various working exhibits including steam Engines, binders, grinding mill and threshing machine; and many stationary exhibits were to be seen.
Amotherby Working Weekend attracted over 100 entries, including tractor pulling (thanks to Kieran Wall) various makes and models of tractors (big thanks to the Marshall club for their turn-out) and 30 ploughing entries.
The event raised £1,700, so many thanks to all the people who gave up their time to make the weekend a big success.
Here's to next year. May the event grow and grow.
