PUPILS at a York village primary school can take advantage of a new gazebo.
The Rotary Club of York Ainsty provided funding to build the structure in the garden area of the playground at Rufforth primary school. Rachel Stott, chairwoman of The PTA, and Anne Godfrey, president of the Rotary Club of York Ainsty, unveiled the new structure this week.
Mark McDermid, head teacher at Rufforth, said: “It particularly enhances the garden area which promotes learning through first- hand experience.”
Mr McDermid said: “The school is grateful to both organisations who provided the necessary finance through their voluntary fund-raising initiatives. “Small schools such as Rufforth would not otherwise find the money to enhance the environment.”
