Nestlé Rowntree RUFC gained their easiest victory of the season when Thirsk surprisingly gave them a late ‘walkover’ in the second round of the North Yorkshire Trophy.
Trees picked up a replacement game at Roundhegians Seconds where they were outclassed 55-0 by a better organised side but it is hoped Nestlé’s less experienced players will have learned from the game.
Debutant number eight Anthony Williams impressed at the back of an out-muscled scrum.
