YORK will escape the heaviest snow tonight, forecasters say.
After two days of severe, wintry conditions, Meteogroup experts say the city will now warm slightly.
Forecaster Michael Dukes said temperatures had fallen as low as -13 in the Vale of York last night, but said tonight's low would be about -2.
Most of the next bout of snowfall is likely to be on the Pennines, he said.
