THE Bishop of Selby cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony for York’s newest sixth-form last week.
Students at the Learning Centre at Archbishop Holgate’s School had just completed the inaugural first term when the Rt Rev Martin Wallace declared it officially open.
The £4 million building contains creative and media studios and business-standard facilities for its 65 new students.
John Harris, head teacher at Archbishop Holgate’s, said: “Our new Learning Centre offers something unique in York.”
A feature of the new sixth form is a series of partnerships with local, national and international businesses.
