Nature is in ultimate command, but people shape their places and places shape their people. People and places change with time, for better or worse.

The nations of the British Isles are unique in their own language, history, character, culture, folk law, art, accent, humour, work skills, habits, ethics and values. These are passed down from one generation to the next and shaped by the lands, towns, cities, villages and communities we live in.

The United Kingdom has, for over three hundred years, developed an even more unique blend of ingredients from them all, whereby all have been important to the others.

The money men, we have all supported with our savings, pensions and trust, have brought all this into crisis and disrepute through their obscene personal greed and reckless gambling, and are now threatening to leave us for richer pastures if we don’t let them off scot free to continue as if nothing had changed.

Let’s take them up on their offer. There must be some good ones among them who have been kept down by the ‘get rich quick merchants’. Put these undervalued people in charge of recruiting honest, hard working, ambitious young people and training them in careful, ethical banking for the nation, not for a few rip off merchants.

Even if the economy suffers we will profit many times over by a surge of honest endeavour with satisfying achievements which would encourage similar values in other areas of activity. Great Britain can be proud again.

The guiding principle of conduct should be the greatest happiness or benefit of the greatest number.
