A SUPERB 18-dart leg from Toni Smallwood went unrewarded as Burnholme were beaten 7-4 by Slip ‘B’ in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Smallwood closed 126 with a bull finish to give Burnholme a 4-2 advantage, but Slip ‘B’ woke up in the pairs, with Roz Kerr and Clair Cooper snatching victory in the deciding leg.

Slip ‘A’s Floss Crampton hit a 171, but it was in vain as visitors Ox went home with a 5-4 victory. Tracey Bruce and Paul Allen sealed their win.

Tina Platt hit a maximum, while Lynne Clapham and Bev Harton also scored well, to help Cueball ‘B’ to a 7-2 victory against visitors Slipper.

Elaine Metcalfe and Anita Adams were the Slipper scorers.

Clifton’s Carole Layne scored four tons and Ruth Norman was a double-ton scorer, but Tiger’s final pairing of Ruth Howden and Kate Liddle secured a narrow margin win.

Sharon Neads (140, 100 for 22) inspired Flag ‘A’ to a 7-2 victory over visitors Acomb ‘A’.

Flag ‘B’ rose to pole position in division two with a resounding victory at Tramways ‘B’. Julia Hagyard closed 88 for the victors.

Beeswing were spiked by Tap’s final pairing of Jeanette Robinson and Sam Lewis, who secured the win.

Jean Wright and Angie Blackmore won match points for Burton WMC against visitors Cueball ‘A’, while Seahorse ‘A’ were too strong for visitors Shepherd ‘B’.

Shepherd ‘A’ fared better than their ‘B’ team, overpowering Woolpack 6-3, while Severus beat club rivals Tramways by the same scoreline.

Division three leaders Leeman ‘A’ were in tremendous form to nudge aside close rivals Shoulder 7-2.

Sun rose into second spot as a 56 closure by Chris Swales in the pairs with Christine Turgoose secured a narrow victory at St Paul’s.

Ann Reagan hit a maximum for Leeman ‘B’, but visitors Seahorse ‘B’ secured a small margin win through their final pair, captain Kerry Gray and Sarah Clark.

Jubilee captain Heather Bulmer led from the front as they left Acomb ‘B’ with a 6-3 victory.

Beagle’s Dee Pearson checked out 100 and colleague Julie Huckle was a double-ton scorer as they felled Walnut Tree.
