York IBC ladies controlled their Yetton Trophy match against Hornsea winning comfortably 100-52.
At home, Melanie Brooke’s rink lost their first two ends before scoring 18 unanswered shots over the next four to lead 18-3. They were 27-5 up after 12 ends and won 37-14.
Carol Instone’s team were in equally dominant fashion as they led 16-4 at the half-way stage, going on to win 32-11.
In Hornsea, Linda Harrison’s side had the edge in a tight game and secured a 16-11 victory thanks to scoring singles on the last four ends.
Maureen Thomas’ four had a good opening period, leading 13-4 after 11 ends.
But they went into their last end 16-14 down and unfortunately they could only score a single to lose by the odd shot.
York now play Ryedale next Thursday in the next round.
