The assessment from the Care Quality Commission covered 2008/9 and looked at the outcomes achieved for adults through social services. In a letter to the council, the commission said: “There has been improved performance during the assessment year, especially in addressing the recommendations from the 2008 service inspection.”
Bill Hodson, the council’s director of housing and adult social services, said: “We are delighted that the improvements we have made in the past year have been recognised. It’s especially important we have improved the systems for safeguarding vulnerable adults.”
