A HEROIN user died in York Hospital, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, an inquest heard.

Stephanie Pauline Sadd seemed to be recovering in a renal ward of York Hospital early in January after she was rushed to intensive care in the early hours of Boxing Day last year, doctors told coroner Donald Coverdale.

But she was bleeding internally from an operation and went into cardiac arrest on January 7. Despite the efforts of the medical team, she died shortly afterwards with her husband Charles Sadd at her side.

Coroner Donald Coverdale recorded a verdict of death by dependency on drugs on the 35-year-old woman from Moore Avenue, Osbaldwick.
