A SECOND woman has died following a crash on the A64 near Tadcaster.
The accident happened at 2.40am on Sunday and involved a Mercedes and Mazda car. A 20-year-old woman died soon after the accident in York Hospital and a second, a 21-year-old woman, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where she was in a critical condition. However, police have announced that she died yesterday.
An inquest into both their deaths is expected to be opened tomorrow.
* On Monday Tien Cheng, 28, of Redcliffe Parade, Bristol, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court charged with dangerous driving in connection with the crash. He was remanded in custody to appear at York Crown Court on December 7.
