POLICE are to wait for the water levels to drop before resuming their search of the River Ouse for missing York student Pierre Le Moignan.
North Yorkshire Police said it would not be safe for them to search the river at the moment because the river is so swollen.
The 21-year-old University of York chemistry student, who is believed to be British, has not been seen at his home address in Seventh Avenue, Tang Hall, since 10am on Saturday, November 21.
The following morning, a passer-by found a number of items of clothing near the river at the Millennium Bridge. The items are believed to have belonged to Mr Le Moignan.
A police spokesman said Mr Le Moignan’s mother and sister lived in Lampeter, Wales, and officers were keeping them updated about the search.
