A CAROL concert near Tadcaster tomorrow is set to raise more than £1,000 for Help For Heroes and Peter Pan Nursery.

The event is being hosted by Dintingdales Restaurant, at Scarthingwell Golf Course near Tadcaster, and is now in its 16th year.

The 2009 concert features the Micklefield Male Voice Choir performing a selection of traditional carols, accompanied by the Leeds Territorial Brass Band. However, the big draw is once again likely to be club singer Little Lizzy, who returns for a third year running to entertain with festive favourites.

Kathy Pick, one of four generations of the family that manages Scarthingwell Golf Course and the restaurant, said: “What makes the concert so special is that everyone pitches in to help out and gladly gives their time for free because it is all for charity.”

There are a few remaining tickets at £5, which can be reserved by phoning 01937 557878.
