IN RESPONSE to Mr Wilson and his lost glasses (Letters, November 25), the police and the council cannot be expected to find every lost item for their owners.
For them to find your glasses with the amount of taxis in York would be too hard and be a waste of police time.
The police have a lot more serious problems to solve, and it would be a waste of taxpayers’ money.
I somehow think you would be one of the first to complain if the police were spending much-needed money on finding a pair of glasses.
If the glasses hadn’t been handed in to the council, what do you want them to do? They didn’t lose your glasses – you did.
I think it’s very unfair of you to blame the council, the police and taxi drivers for your carelessness.
I am a very careless person and lose things all the time, such as my jacket. I accepted this loss and forgot about it, and so should you. Buy a new pair of glasses.
A Leggott, Selby.
