PUPILS and staff at Huntington School have raised thousands of pounds for two local charities.
The whole school took part in a special fundraising day during the summer term, with activities including a six-mile sponsored walk.
Now cheques for £1,239 each have been handed to representatives from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the 68 Centre in York.
Diane Lambert, from the 68 Centre, said it had been open to young people and the community for more than 40 years.
“We currently run over 14 sessions a week, including tots and toddler groups, dance groups, karate, badminton and many youth sessions,” she said.
