GUIDE Dogs is celebrating Christmas 2009 with the launch of a virtual gifts website and needs readers’ support.

Readers can pick from a range of virtual “dog-e-gifts” for every budget. For £13, you can buy Christmas dinner for ten guide dog puppies; £137 will buy a guide dog puppy all the kit it needs to start at training school.

Guide Dogs will be able to use the money to further its vision of a society in which blind and partially sighted people enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.

When you buy a virtual “dog-e-gift” for a loved one, they will receive a Christmas card with a photo, description of the gift and details of how it helps Guide Dogs.

Shoppers can choose whether to fill out the card online to be sent directly to the recipient or have it posted to themselves first.
