RAMPANT York Schoolboy Under-14s produced a scintillating display to beat hosts Spen Valley 9-2.

A total of eight players got on the scoresheet for York, who led 3-0 at half-time and cut loose after the break.

A swift attack down the left saw York take a deserved lead and a square pass from Jordan Outerbridge set up Jamie Barkway to fire home from the edge of the penalty area.

York’s second came after a succession of corners, with Chris Banks scoring after a scramble in the Spen six-yard box.

Spen breached the York defence a couple of times, but goalkeeper Josh Archer stood tall and produced two outstanding saves.

Outerbridge scored a third before half-time, but the home side hit back after the break as defensive errors led to two quick goals.

Billy Chadwick’s corner teed up a fourth York goal for Sam Ripley Kitson, while Chadwick then got his name on the scoresheet with a cool finish and James Green got the sixth.

Newcomer Jamie Storey got his reward for another consistent performance with two quick goals, and York’s ninth goal fell to leading goalscorer James Hudson.

York continued to dominate and hit a post and the crossbar three times.

York U11s continued their recent purple patch with a 5-1 away victory over a weakened East Riding.

The hosts were missing several players who are attached to the Hull City Centre of Excellence, and York ran out comfortable winners.

The visitors opened the scoring when George Brown tapped in from close range, but East Riding responded immediately when York failed to deal with a corner and goalkeeper Dan Miller was stranded.

A moment of quality put York back in front as Louis Cade released Brown and his first-time cross found Ryan Appleton unmarked, and he netted from just inside the box.

Man of the match Jacob Smith thwarted any potential raids at the back for York, while George Wilson-Shields and Sam Drake bossed the midfield.

Brown collected his second goal when he fired home from close range after evading several challenges in the penalty area.

A Drake free-kick was spilled by the East Riding ’keeper and Brown was on hand to complete his hat-trick with an opportunist goal.

York rounded off the scoring when Casey Stewart netted with a spectacular 25-yard strike.
