STAFF at a York fashion store got into the spirit of things for Hallowe’en to raise cash for St Leonard’s Hospice.
Shop assistants at Gap’s York Designer Outlet’s store dressed in ghoulish outfits over the weekend and encouraged customers to donate to the hospice. The shop’s mannequins donned hospice t-shirts for the event, with Gap head office doubling the amount raised at the store as part of its charity giving.
Helen Holmes, one of the managers at the Gap store, said: ‘We do fundraising regularly, and we’ve chosen St Leonard’s for this event because we have a number of staff members who have had friends and family cared for by the hospice.” Sarah Atkinson, of the hospice’s fundraising team, said: “It’s great that Gap entered into the hallowe’en spirit and raised funds for the work of St Leonard’s.”
