Café No.8 Bistro has become established as one of York’s leading restaurants. It is just outside the city walls, a few minutes walk from York Minster. The interior is cosy and intimate with 24 covers so booking is highly recommended. Modern British bistro style dishes are prepared using excellent fresh Yorkshire produce influenced by flavours from around the world. The result is wonderful food bursting with taste served in a relaxed informal atmosphere.

With Christmas approaching the staff have readied themselves to cater for all - whether it be shoppers needing a breather from the crowds; small parties of colleagues or friends out for lunch or an evening meal; or families meeting up for a meal together over the festive period. From 15th November diners can choose from either the regular day or evening menus or try the new Christmas Tasting Menu to experience a range of the cuisine. For a little extra cost carefully selected wines complimenting each course of the Tasting Menu can be chosen.

The Café has been featured in the Best Restaurant section in the annual Observer Food Monthly Awards for the last three years and was voted one of the UK's Top 100 Restaurants in 2009 by Eat Out magazine
