BEAUTY guru Christine Cartwright made her final appearance at Browns department store in York last night after 39 years’ service with Estee Lauder. Christine who was Estee Lauder’s personal make-up artist, also boasted Jackie Kennedy and Princess Grace as previous clients.
Sharon Lewis, marketing co-ordinator at Browns, said Christine’s role with Lauder involved travelling around the country, sharing her make-up tips.
One of her famous talents was her ability to put her own make-up on without the use of a mirror while addressing her audience.
Last night was her final of giving advice to customers prior to her retirement. Sharon said: “Christine will be missed, she is a real institution. Everyone wanted to be there for her last night to have an opportunity to see her for the last time and to say goodbye.
“We are very grateful for all she has done for our store over the years. It certainly won’t be the same without her.”
