Children at a York primary school have been getting creative to help raise funds for the Jeans For Genes charity.

All 290 pupils at St Oswald’s Primary School on Heslington Lane, Fulford, have worked together within their classes to customise 11 pairs of jeans provided by York Designer Outlet.

The one-off denim designs will be on display at the outlet during a style weekend on Saturday and Sunday 4 October, where customers will also be able to get tips on how to pick the perfect pair of jeans and learn about the latest style trends, as well as lending their support to the genetics charity.

Rupert Griffiths, the school’s head teacher, said: “The children have had a great time customising the jeans as it gave them a chance to be really creative.”
