FLOODING has hit a village near York where water stands more than several inches deep outside a primary school.
Chelo Brooks, head teacher of Escrick Primary School, in Carr Lane, said the road outside the front of the building has flooded after heavy rains hit the area.
Mrs Brooks said the water had come from a drain in Carr Lane and because it contained sewage it had created a really bad smell.
She told The Press: “The school is very concerned about the health and safety implications of this issue. “The drain is blocked entirely outside our school entrance.”
