SIMON Dyson produced a bogey-free second round to make the halfway cut in The 3 Irish Open in Baltray.
York-based Dyson opened the tournament with a one-under par 71 and flirted with the cut mark of three-under early on in yesterday’s round.
However, having started on the tenth hole, birdies on the par four 13th and 14th holes had him moving in the right direction. A further shot was gained at the par-five 18th to leave him handily placed.
The 31-year-old Malton and Norton Golf Club star also picked up a shot at the par-five sixth to move two shots clear of the dreaded cut line.
His round of 68 left him in a tie for 44th place, some way off early pacesetters Shane Lowry, Jamie Donaldson and Robert Rock.
