THE eighth annual City of York Girls’ Football League tournament will be held on Sunday, June 14.
The event, believed to be one of the largest girls-only competitions in North Yorkshire, will be hosted by Poppleton at their Millfield Lane base in York.
The day will feature teams from Under-10s to U16s, plus open age sides, with 80 to 90 teams bringing 800 to 900 players.
Entries have been received from teams in North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough, Scarborough, Selby and Harrogate.
More than 200 matches will be played during the day, while England and Leeds star Sue Smith is also due to attend the tournament.
