A FUNDRAISING drive by teenagers at York College has been hailed a roaring success.
Members of York College Leo Club – a junior section of Minster Lions – have raised £200 for York Hospital’s children’s ward.
The money will be used to buy a portable DVD player, as well as some arts and craft materials, for teenagers being treated on the ward.
“I’ve never had to spend a long time on the children’s ward, but I can imagine it must be really boring if you have to,” said club president and A-level student Becky Worth, 17. “Hopefully, our money will buy some things to make their time on the ward a little more interesting.”
The Leo Club raised the money by holding two cake sales at York College – one on November 5 and one during Easter week, when they also organised a guess the name of the rabbit competition.
