THE Labour front bench at City of York Council has been reshuffled.

Coun Sonja Crisp is replacing Coun Janet Looker as the party’s spokesperson on leisure, culture and social inclusion, while Coun Helen Douglas replaces Coun Dave Merrett as spokesperson for children and young people’s services.

Labour leader David Scott said: “The shadow executive will continue to hold the executive to account to make sure that they do the best for the residents of York.”

Labour is set to mount a bid for power at next week’s annual council meeting, although it is expected the Conservatives will again side with the Liberal Democrats, allowing them to retain power.
