A LATE-NIGHT attack on a man in York has prompted an appeal for information from police.
The 46-year-old victim of the assault was discovered at 11.30pm on Tuesday evening at a bus stop near Nunnery Lane’s junction with Price’s Lane.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said he suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to York Hospital, though he was due to be released yesterday afternoon.
The spokesman said: “It is believed the man was assaulted by a group of four men after leaving a nearby property. “We are appealing for any witnesses who saw the assault take place or saw the man or group of men in the area prior to the assault.”
The man is believed to be local and was making his way to York Railway Station when the attack took place.
Anyone with any information is asked to phone DC Lee Boyeson at York CID on 0845 60 60 247, or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
