FULFORD are leading the way in division one of the Tyke Petroleum Men’s Tennis League.
The first team blew Boston Spa apart in a 67-41 win, with all three pairs scoring 20-plus games. Captain Tom Walker and Nigel Skelton topped the tree with 23 games unbeaten. In division five, Fulford seconds won 83-25 against Heworth, with captain Paul Ruff scoring 28 games with Richard Ekers.
Teenagers Arran Tate and Josh Beavers racked up 30 games. Back in division one, Dunnington beat champions Bubwith 58-50. Trevor Loten and Will Peak Vout won 28 games. Strensall overpowered York to record their first victory in the top flight.
Bubwith seconds reign supreme in division five after crushing Starbeck seconds 63-45.
Escrick are the early leaders in division six following a comprehensive victory at home to Wilberfoss 2. Granville Mark and Tony Smith won 24 games for Escrick.
In division seven, leaders Dunnington 3 have been knocked off their perch after a surprise defeat at Wheldrake. Tim Lamb and Dan Hall scored 27 games, but Wheldrake won 59-49. Stamford Bridge 2nds crushed Bishopthorpe 85-23.
