Katie Milne and Emma Loten starred in Dunnington’s victory against Tadcaster in division one of the Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League.

The pair won 9-3, 11-1, 9-3 as Dunnington triumphed 63-45.

There was also a win for York 1 73-35 against Poppleton, while Fulford beat Wheldrake as Jill McCreedy and Eleanor Crooks were the only couple with three straight wins.

York 2 enjoyed a 56-52 win against Pocklington.

Heworth had their second win in division two when they visited Wigginton. Chris Vis and Helen Hayward secured three wins to help their side win 71-37.

Knaresborough visited Bubwith and did not drop a single rubber.

Fulford gave a good all-round team performance to beat Cawood 36-72 in division three. Fulford’s Pam Campbell and Elizabeth Mallory scored three wins.

In division four, Tollerton beat Dunnington 66-42. Alison Smethurst and Dot Hornby were unbeaten, winning 24 games.

Copmanthorpe beat Fulford 64-44, with Jane Crowther and Juliette Neylon taking 21 hard-fought games.

Riccall had their second win, 56-52 over Pocklington.

Starbeck beat Escrick thanks to top scorers Charlotte Donnelly and Lyne Garne winning 26 games.

Julie Barnes and Anne Milne top scored as Boston Spa beat New Earswick. They won 27 games in a 71-37 victory.

Poppleton beat Sutton-on-Derwent 58-50 and David Lloyd 2 crushed Dunnington 80-28.

In division seven, Stamford Bridge had Emma Doughty and Naomi Fuller as top scorers in a 75-33 win over Dunnington.
