PUPILS from primary schools in York headed to a school in the city to take part in a celebration of St George’s Day.
Children from all the Catholic primary schools in York visited St George’s RC Primary School, in Fishergate, where pupils took part in traditional English dancing as part of the celebration.
Katy Staite, a Year 6 pupil at St George’s, sang an unaccompanied folk song, and the school band also performed.
Zoë Loftus, deputy head teacher at St George’s, said: “It was just a really lovely day of celebrating everybody’s talents and showing what everybody was good at – all in the name of St George.”
