THE only solution to the traffic problems on the A1237 is to dual the entire road and separate the junctions.

This would greatly reduce pollution because traffic produces less when it is moving than when standing still.

It would also reduce traffic in central York because through traffic would not need to race through the city to avoid jams, and it would greatly help the reliability of buses which can take more than 20 minutes at busy times just to cross this road.

So don’t bother wasting this £2 million on so called quick fixes. Let’s do a proper job and give us the road we should have had in the first place.
