“PLEASE cast your mind back for clues” – that was the message that father of missing Claudia Lawrence has sent to thousands of university students following their return to York after the Easter break.

Peter Lawrence said he hoped the return of those studying at the city’s two universities would bring more evidence to light which could help trace his missing daughter.

At yesterday’s press conference, a new poster was also launched under the banner “Claudia Lawrence Where Are You?”.

Mr Lawrence said: “Claudia was a neighbour of York St John University, which she used to park her car on a daily basis,” he said.

“The University of York students are now back, and a lot of people would recognise her face or know her.

“I would ask them to search any memories at the end of term that can help.”

Although no fresh leads about what has happened to Claudia have emerged following a press conference last Friday, Mr Lawrence said police had now received almost 1,000 calls from the public regarding her disappearance.

A £10,000 reward for information is also being offered by Crimestoppers.
