Car becomes stuck on Boer War memorial near Skeldergate Bridge
MOTORISTS were greeted with this unusual sight after a car ended up mounting a York traffic island and war memorial.
The maroon Ford Focus got stuck on the Boer War memorial traffic island, which is between Skeldergate Bridge and Castle Mills Bridge, yesterday afternoon.
Police attended the scene but were unable to provide any details about the incident, in which no one is believed to have been injured.
