CITY of York Hockey Club’s veterans team booked their place in the Yorkshire Cup final with a 5-3 victory over Sheffield Bankers.
City of York turned in a superb all-round team performance to beat their South Yorkshire foes in the semi-finals.
Alex Fletcher scored one to add to a brace apiece from Graham Cook and Karim Ramli as York bid to follow up last season’s Yorkshire Cup trophy triumph.
The holders will now take on Harrogate Hockey Club in the final on May 17.
The Yorkshire Cup was a boost for York after their semi-final defeat by Ipswich in the English National Cup.
