Pupils from The Mount School and Tregelles, the Mount junior school in York, have achieved sporting success at the British Schools’ biathlon finals.

The girls qualified for the finals in Bath by winning the Yorkshire event. They joined pupils from all over the country to compete in swimming and running.

Becky Mason, Laura Mason and Christa Sze-To from The Mount School were placed third in the team event in their age group. The Tregelles Year 6 team of Kiri Armstrong, Rowan Palmour and Gaby Valks achieved second place. Palmour also came an impressive third in the Year 6 individual event.

Mary Anderson, Head of Tregelles, said: “We are delighted that the girls have done so well in a national sporting event. “They have trained really hard and thoroughly deserve their success. We are all very proud of them.”
