Shay North’s man-of-the-match performance wasn’t enough to save Heworth U9s’ long unbeaten run, as they lost to Drighlington Tigers.
The Villagers made too many errors and squandered several chances, especially in the first period when two grubber kicks were knocked on over the try-line.
Full-back Josh Rogerson made several one-on-one tackles and kept his scoring record going as he took a great pass from stand-off Sam Young to ghost in, while North’s quick thinking from a penalty saw Arron McBride power over. Cain North was most improved.
