New Earswick All Blacks RLFC Under-13s continued their recent outstanding form to reach their first Yorkshire Cup final after beating East Leeds 38-11 in the Yorkshire Junior League Continuation Cup.

The hosts started sluggishly to allow East Leeds to recover the opening kick off and score a converted try, but undeterred by the opening minute setback All Blacks struck back immediately with the in-form Tom Girden powering over in the corner.

From the resulting kick off the rampant All Blacks scored again this time as full back Lewis Phillips came into the line at full speed to crash over, Dec Calam easily adding the extras.

East Leeds had no answer to a rampant All Blacks side as their lead quickly increased to 16-6 as a fantastic flowing move saw Girden score his second try, Calam once again adding the conversion.

It was one-way traffic by this time as the table-topping third division side struggled to keep up with the All Blacks offensive line.

Girden completed a deserved first-half hat-trick with a solo run which again left four East Leeds players in his wake.

East Leeds never gave up and their efforts were rewarded with the last score of the half.

But the second half continued in the same vein with the strong-running All Blacks forwards far too much for the visitors to handle.

Lewis Phillips increased the lead, Calam taking the score to 26-10 with the goal.

Three further tries followed in quick succession, two from pacy winger Jake Phillips and a fine try from Callum Graham put the game out of the visitors reach.

The All Blacks’ opponents in the May 3 final will be Upton who defeated Heworth.

The club are running coaches to the final at the Chris Moyles Stadium, Featherstone. Anyone wanting details on travel arrangements should phone Emma Ireland on 07840 433158.
