THOUSANDS of football fans were today being urged to help in the hunt for Claudia.

Hundreds of fliers, printed by The Press, will be distributed to fans arriving at KitKat Crescent this afternoon for York City’s clash with Kidderminster Harriers.

The posters read: “Missing. Claudia Lawrence has been missing since Wednesday, March 18. Have you seen her?”

They then urge anyone with information to call North Yorkshire Police on 0845 60 60 247.

York City’s communications and community director, Sophie Hicks, used to drink with Claudia at the Spotted Cow, in Malton, when Claudia lived in the town, before moving to York four years ago.

She said: “We will be distributing posters of Claudia on the turnstiles prior to today’s game against Kidderminster with the aim of assisting the police search.

“Our supporters are from all areas of York and North Yorkshire and we just hope the posters encourage anyone who has any information or may have seen Claudia before her disappearance to come forward and contact the police.

“She is a very nice, gentle person and always warm and personable. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult, worrying time.”
