A HAIR cut has helped a Harrogate couple to find their dream home in North Yorkshire.

Maggie Maltby, sales negotiator for Barratt’s Yorkshire East division, began chatting about the company’s Hay-a-park development while having her hair cut at Emma Louise Usher’s hair salon, Contemporary.

Emma Louise and her fiancé, James Jackson, paid a visit to Hay-a-park’s showhomes and within five weeks had moved into a new four-bedroom house.

The pair, who will marry next year, had been living in rented accommodation and wanted a new home which would not need any alteration or work.

“Our new home is gorgeous,” said Emma Louise. “It’s exactly what we wanted. Maggie was really helpful and the site manager, Rob Scarce, couldn’t do enough for us. They really went out of their way to make our move as smooth as possible.

“Our new home is very spacious. We love the size and layout and feel that we didn’t have to make any compromises. Our two cats and new boxer dog, Oscar, really love the garden. We also got a fabulous deal and exceptional value for money.

“In the longer term, there is also space for us to extend the property and perhaps create a fifth bedroom, so I can’t see us moving for a very long time.”

Hay-a-park boasts a range of three and four bedroom homes in Halfpenny Lane, Knaresborough, priced from £234,995.

The sales arena of three showhomes is open between Thursdays and Mondays from 10am to 5pm.
