TODDLERS at a York nursery have been stretching the point as part of a national event Busy Bees, at Rawcliffe, marked the National Day Nurseries Association’s Healthy Body, Happy Me campaign with a yoga session for children, staff and parents.

Now in its third year, the Healthy Body, Happy Me week-long campaign helps nurseries ensure children have the energy for play, learning and fun.

The yoga session at Busy Bees was provided by Farah Khan, of Sheffield-based Yoga4 Ltd. Farah showed children and parents how yoga can help them to stay healthy.

Four staff at the Busy Bees have been trained by Yoga4Nurseries to ensure ongoing activities are implemented within daily activities.

Ali Cousins, nursery manager at Busy Bees, said: “Helping children learn about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle is really important, and taking part in the campaign gives us a chance to do this in a fun way.”
