16:34: In the darkening gloom, Kealshore Lass makes it a hat-trick of wins for North Yorkshire trainers when taking the final bumper contest. Brian Ellison, Pat Haslam and now Middleham's George Moore have all got on the scoresheet in what has been a successful day for the county's handlers.

Hope you've enjoyed the day's action. I'm off to find my car before it gets pitch black.

16:10: Glimmer of Light has just put them to the sword in the Bramham Hall For Conferences and Banqueting Chase. Tim Easterby's Eborarry hadn't won a National Hunt race for a couple of years and, once they got into the straight, he never looked like changing that statistic and had to settle again for the runners-up spot. The 7-4 favourite It's Bertie was just another well-backed horse to have disappointed at Wetherby today.

15:45: The places remain unaltered. Will Be Done almost, almost got back up after trying his hardest to tumble at the second last. But Kornati Kid gets the spoils, taking full advantage following the slip-up, which also saw Ferdy Murphy's Poker De Sivola tumble out. The curse of the best turned out award strikes again. I think Will Be Done would have had a couple of lengths in hand over Kornati Kid otherwise.

15:40: There's a Stewards' Inquiry going on after that one, which was packed full of incident.

15:22: Will Be Done's just won the best turned out award, which is usually a poisoned chalice for race prospects. Let's hope not in this case.

15:15: You can stick a pin in the racecard and have as good a chance of finding the winner of the feature totepool Towton Novices' Chase. A case can be made for all the five participants but the favourite on the track is Donald McCain's Will Be Done (2-1).

15:10: Felix de Giles is a very happy man. Heraldry's win has just given him a double, while also adding a victory to the tally of Middleham's Pat Haslam. It was a bit of a battle for a while with Tighten Your Belt but Haslam's nine-year-old did it well in the end - by 11 lengths to be exact. And what of Sheriff Hutton? When the pressure came, he wasn't quick enough.

14:45: They are backing Tim Walford's Sheriff Hutton in the totescoop6 Millionaire Maker Hurdle. The drying conditions have to help him - he's better on good than soft ground - and the punters seem to agree. He's currently 11-4 in the market. Close behind are Tighten Your Belt and Wild Cane Ridge but, after saying his horse had it all to do in the Racing Post this morning, Paul Nicholls' Bold Policy has been drifting all day.

14:30: I hope you've had more success in that race than me. I won't be a millionaire at the end of play today. They seemed to go off very quicky and, although Daldini (6-1) tired on the long Wetherby run-in, the seven-year-old still did it pretty nicely - kicking away around the turn and leading all the way down the straight. Ellerslie George, like River Shanakill in the last, was very ordinary for jockey Denis O'Regan and trainer Howard Johnson.

14:10: If you're playing the £4 million scoop6 then you're going to be very interested in the totescoop6 Record Rollover Chase. This race kicks off the scoop6 charge and it's looking tight at the front of the market. Saunders Road, with the promising Rhys Flint in the saddle, is the early 7-2 favourite with Ellerslie George and Daldini hot on his heels. To be honest, this one's a bit of a puzzle. Most of the nine runners have a chance in the £20,000 contest.

13:55: Tastes Like More (11-4 joint favourite) has just denied us a North Yorkshire double in Wetherby's second heat. Donald McCain's seven-year-old was always prominent in this three mile contest and had a touch more in hand to repel Malton trainer Malcolm Jefferson's Stick Together after they hit the last fence stride for stride.

13:35: It's looking another tight betting heat in the European Communications Mares' Novices' Hurdle. There's very little between River Shanakill, Luccombe Bay and Tastes Like More in the betting market.

13:25: Well, the money was down and Elite Land didn't dissapoint - beating Pearl by a couple of lengths. A great start to the day for Malton's Brian Ellison, who claimed the six-year-old for just £6,000 from Hambleton saddler Kevin Ryan. Jockey Felix de Giles reckons he did it pretty easily, galloping to the line and picking up nicely after being a bit keen early on.

12:57: Allowing Doncaster to stage a rival meeting on the same day as Wetherby may have taken its toll on today's crowd. It looks like there are more bookies than punters in the ring. Let's hope they are all just hiding in the bar.

12:55: Elite Land and Pearl (both 7-2) are heading the early market in the opening TurfTV Handicap Hurdle. But I have a sneaking fancy for Pinewood Legend (6-1 at the moment) who won at Ayr last time out on soft ground and seems to be improving.

12:20: The going here is soft (heavy in places on the chase course down the back straight). Having ventured on the grass from the car park to the entrance, I can tell you it's decidedly wet there but, apparently, it might be a little drier on the course itself. We'll find out more after the first.

12:09: Good afternoon from Wetherby where there's a good seven race card ahead, including the highlight Towton Novices' Chase.

The action gets under way at 1.15pm and I'll be keeping you right up to date with all the action from the track.

Hopefully, we'll find a couple of winners as the afternoon goes on.
