A MOTORIST high on drink or drugs had 2.7g of heroin in his car when he visited Askham Bryan College, York magistrates heard.
Staff at the agricultural educational centre called in police who had difficulty understanding Stephen Mark Rix, 34, said Martin Butterworth, for the Crown Prosecution Service.
“He was clearly under the influence of something,” said Mr Butterworth. When they searched his car parked nearby, officers found two paper packs of heroin weighing together 2.7g. In other court cases, magistrates have heard that street deals of about 0.1g heroin can sell for £10.
Rix, 34, of Baker Street, Clifton, York, pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs.
He is not believed to be a student at the college.
For him, Sandra Keen said: “He had taken something, he had been given something, but it is not clear what it was.”
The drugs in the car were his, the court was told.
