WHAT is happening to our city? If it isn’t the Yorkshire Wheel it’s the Barbican or the empty former Boots shop.
I have been a resident for more than 50 years and things were far better in the old days.
Why on earth was the wheel moved in the first place? The Barbican has turned out to be a white elephant, the old Boots store is still empty, and I’ve just heard that the antiques centre in Lendal is closing. A T J Hughes store or supermarket would be ideal, as Marks & Spencer have the monopoly.
Come on, City of York Council, be decisive.
