MOTORISTS in York are continuing to put lives at risk by flouting the laws of the road.
In just one hour on Monday, police officers pulled over 15 drivers in Fulford Road for offences such as using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, or having broken headlights.
Some might say these are fairly trivial matters and that the police should have better things to do with their time.
Not so. The toll of death and injury on our roads is still appallingly high. The police have an absolute duty to target those whose irresponsible behaviour makes them a risk. We back Operation Anvil all the way.
