Fulford ‘A’ moved level with Malton ‘A’ at the top of the York Conservative Clubs’ Carlsberg UK Snooker League by hammering Acomb ‘A’ 6-1.

Justin Morris started the rout but Gary Robinson levelled by ending Tim Lister’s seven-match unbeaten run.

Jeff Brown, Simon England, Steve Bradley, Mike Walsh, who is still unbeaten with seven wins, and Richard Stroughair completed the victory.

Malton ‘A’ came from 3-2 down to defeat Heworth ‘B’ 4-3.

Adam Scaife and Mark Calpin put Heworth ahead only for Nick Dyson and Simon Weatherill to level. Sean Parker restored Heworth’s lead, but Malton levelled again through Phil Hart.

Roger Ward secured Malton’s 4-3 success with breaks of 38 and 28.

Heworth ‘A’ held onto fourth spot, level on points with their ‘B’ team, despite losing to lowly Acomb ‘B’.

Kevan Ventress beat Mark Winskill (24 break) in the first game, but Heworth ‘A’ went 3-1 up with replies from Jason Milner, Neil Wood and Steve Burdett (22).

Brian Henry reduced the arrears and John Ashwell (25) beat Clive Whyte to level before Phil Carlton (29) made it 4-3 for Acomb.

Bootham ‘A’ are still in the race after a 6-1 thrashing of Fulford ‘B’. John Darley (20) and Brendan Ledgeway made it 2-0, but Alan Reed then inflicted a first defeat on Mark Darley to gain Fulford’s sole point. Tim Fillingham, Simon Robinson, Colin Robinson and Barry Rankin (46) sealed the win.

Bootham had to fight back from 3-0 down and overturn an aggregate deficit of 46 points to avenge a previous defeat by Fulford in the Slater Cup pairs league.

The 4-3 victory kept Bootham top, two points ahead of Fulford.

Heworth moved into joint second place with a 5-2 success against bottom placed Acomb.
