I WAS appalled when I heard the BBC had decided not to air the Gaza appeal on behalf of the Disasters Emergency Committee.
These charities are some of the most reputable in the UK and are not involving themselves in politics.
They are simply responding to the humanitarian crisis which has moved so many of us in recent weeks.
Please don’t let the BBC’s censorship of the appeal harm those who really need our help and make a donation at www.dec.org.uk and spread the word.

* BY REFUSING to broadcast the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Appeal for relief funds for Gaza, the staff at the BBC who made this deplorable decision are making a mockery of their public service role, thus intensifying the suffering of the already beleaguered people in Gaza.
By denying their viewers and listeners a quick and easy way to respond to this massive humanitarian disaster the BBC could be seen as extremely partisan by ensuring fewer funds are raised for this vital work in Gaza.
I am planning to cancel my television licence fee and give the money instead to the DEC www.dec.org.uk so they can get on with their important life-saving work.
