The club side responded with Jenny Barron levelling.

Hardy was joined by Amanda Bevan and the visitors restored their winning advantage.

Leaders Tap turned on the style to defeat visitors Leeman ‘A’, while Clair Barker and Sam Robertson secured victory for Britannia over Swan.

Marcia Grey romped into a 3-0 advantage before Ann Reagan and Sharon Rishworth troubled the scorers for Leeman ‘B’.

Ali Buckley, then Margaret Forth and Sheridan Kilner, put the result beyond Leeman’s reach.

Sharon Mountain hit the big scores as Hussars secured victory at Jubilee through the pairing of Sue Lumley and Elaine Fawcett.

Beagle came on strong in the pairs to take home a 6-3 win from Locomotive.

Division one front-runners Cueball were prevented from a clean sweep by the Slipper pairing of Elaine Metcalfe and Doreen Johnstone. Tracy Farmeary gamed in 22 for the snooker club.

Second-placed Clifton were outwitted by Ox captain Sandra Bruce, who gamed in 22 in her singles then secured victory in the decider alongside Coleen Armitage.

Ruth Howeden (23) and Jill Hopkins (two double tops to finish on 80) were Tiger’s inspiration in their narrow margin win against Burnholme.

Helen Kitchen and Chrissie Noble snatched Slip ‘A’s win in the decider at Woolpack.

Kelly Outterson and Vickey Sellers set Beeswing off with a 2-0 lead.

However, they could not add to their tally as Slip ‘B’s Carole Perrett started a winning reply.

Division two leaders Tramways were knocked off track at Cueball as Joan Hunter led the snooker club side to a 6-3 victory.

Joan Woods closed on 97 as Burton Club cleared up in the pairs to beat Shepherd ‘A’ by the same 6-3 margin.

Dot Trousdale and Jackie Clemit secured Flag’s win at Shoulder.

Diane Armer was joined by Alison Rattray to seal their win against Acomb.

Mitre moved within striking distance of the leaders with a 6-3 victory against Severus. Charlotte Garnet and Jane Barnes, double ton scorers, inspired Mitre.
