TREGELLES, the Mount Junior School for boys and girls, will sport a smart look in the football tournament it is hosting in March.

The Tregelles Invitation Cup will be held on Wednesday, March 25 and will feature 18 school teams of year three and year four pupils competing for three trophies. All players will receive a medal.

The tournament is believed to be the first to combine football teams from independent and state schools and its being coordinated by Tregelles and Matt Gillard of the School Sports Partnership.

Two businesses, run by parents of boys in the Tregelles ranks, agreed to sponsor the smart new navy, white and royal blue strip. They are Tim Moat, of York-based event photography business PicturePower Ltd and Adam Sinclair, pictured front far left, managing director of Mulberry Hall in Stonegate.

Said Moat, “The boys have had a good start to the season, which sparked the idea for the tournament.

“We felt the high standard of play on the pitch should be matched by the quality of their kit.”
